1. Crusader Fortresses in the Galillee
We will visit the Gedin Fortresses in the Galillee, then continue on to the ancient city of Acre (Akko), where we'll visit the underground knights' chambers.
We will pass the historical narrow "escape tunnel", climb the ancient walls of the old city (still boasting antique cannons), and finally conclude with a visit to the picturesque port of Akko.
2. Ethnic Groups in the Galillee
The centerpiece of this trip is a visit to the ancient city of Tsipory (Saphoris), capital of ancient Galillee and home of the parents of Mary, mother of Jesus. The site harbors ruins of the original settlement, breathtaking mosaic flours and an impressive water reservoir system.
We will then continue to travel through beautiful mountain scenery road winding past Jewish and Arab villages, comfortingly living side by side in peace. We will visit both Arab and Druze villages, and discover the differences in culture and life stile between them.
